Notes

This is a half recipe.

Cookie Ingredients

- 4 Cups Flour

- 1 1/3 Cups Plus 4 Tsp. Sugar

- 1 Tsp. Cinnamon

- 1 Tsp. Cloves

- 3/4 Tsp. Nutmeg

- 1 Tsp. Allspice

- 1 Tsp. Baking Soda

- 6 Tbsp. Cocoa

- 1/2 Tsp. Salt

- 1 Cup Milk

- 1 Stick Margarine

- 1/2 Cup Nuts (Optional)

Frosting Ingredients

- 1 Cup Confectioners Sugar

- Milk

- 1 Tsp. Anise or Vanilla Extract

Instructions

* Sift the ingredients together.

* Heat the milk until very warm but not boiling and melt the shortening in the milk.

* Let it cool and add the dry ingredients.

* Add the nuts if desired.

* Roll into 1" balls.

* Bake in a preheated 375 degree oven for about 12 minutes.

* Apply frosting.
