Just got back from Menfi...I have Mangiaracina on BOTH sides. My father was Giuseppe Palminteri, son of Antonio P.and Francesca Romano while my mother was a Tavormina, through which there is a much more direct Mangiaracina connect---her aunt was a Mangiaracina.
A cousin of ours on the P. side has done EXTENSIVE geneological work in Menfi.

My grandfather was Antonio Mangiaracina and he came over on the S.S. Sicilia October 5th 1901. His wife was Mary. They had 4 children, Salvatore, John, Nina and Florence. They lived in NY. Antonio was a barber. My name is Patricia Mangiaracina Davila. Looking for the rest of the family.

Hi this was a very interesting site. I was born with the name Barbara Ann Mangiaracina on August 13 1957 when I was 7 years old my father had it shortend to Mangi. It was a little easier to write my name for school. My grandmother who recently died at the age of 97 still went by Mangiaracina. Her name was Josephine and my grandfather was Salvatore.

Hello all. Nice web page. I came across the site trying to contact Mike. It's been a while. I live in Charlotte, North Carolina now. I have a family and I own a business doing advertising for radio stations all over the country. Mike, I hope all is well for you and your family. Still on the force? Lets catch up soon...

No relation I am afraid. I am just starting my own Sicilian research and loved your website, something I can aspire to later perhaps.

I just returned from a few days in Sicily and I was disappointed that I did not get down to Santa Margherita just to see where the Mangiaracina's are from! I will get there! Our name in Italy doesn't mean very much to anyone, in fact sometimes I have been asked if it is an Italian name. BUT, our name in Sicily opens doors and is a heck of a conversation piece! ...a side note, the orange blossoms were blooming in Taormina last week and the fragrance was truly heavenly every time there was a slight breeze. Regards to all...maybe we will get to meet one day!!

Hi there WOW it is nice to see a website dedicated to the Mangiaracina Family. Wondering if any of you are distant relatives of ours. Sicily is where our grandfather, grandmother and father were born. Thank you for this website.
