I just returned from a few days in Sicily and I was disappointed that I did not get down to Santa Margherita just to see where the Mangiaracina's are from! I will get there! Our name in Italy doesn't mean very much to anyone, in fact sometimes I have been asked if it is an Italian name. BUT, our name in Sicily opens doors and is a heck of a conversation piece! ...a side note, the orange blossoms were blooming in Taormina last week and the fragrance was truly heavenly every time there was a slight breeze. Regards to all...maybe we will get to meet one day!!

This is a fantastic website. It is so much fun to explore our roots. My Great grandfather was Guiseppe Mangiaracina from Santa Margherita. My grandfather, born in S M, was Anthony who grew up in Brooklyn NY. My dad is Joseph, and my mom is Ann (Antonia Bonventre)My brother Anthony,my sister Jo-Ann and I were raised in Plainview LI. I think we need a family reunion! It would be so great to meet everyone!

Hi there WOW it is nice to see a website dedicated to the Mangiaracina Family. Wondering if any of you are distant relatives of ours. Sicily is where our grandfather, grandmother and father were born. Thank you for this website.

I am just beginning the process of searching my family history with this beautiful Italian name. My grandfather, Joseph Mangiarcina was from either Palermo or Taormina. His daughter, my mother, was named Francesca Mangiarcina. He had two sisters, Francesca and Martha. He arrived in America in the 1920's and settled in Summit, NJ. He served in the Italian Army and died in 1959. Any suggestions on researching my family would be appreciated.

This is very interesting as my grandmother was a Mangiaracina (Paola) and was married to Emanule Gallo. She had a brother Rudolf and her father's name was Michael. All were from Sambuca Sicely. My grandparents immigrated to Brooklyn NY. I was also previously married to a Mangiaracina,(no relation to my grandmother)but they were not from Sambuca. My Son is Michael who signed this guestbook (Mangi240).
